The first of these is one I submitted to Equestria Daily for their "Community Soapbox." Somehow it was never actually featured. The second one I myself turned down. I decided to share them both here. #1 Theory: Twilight Mixed up Meadowbrook with Mistmane In “The Cutie Map,” Twilight implies that Meadowbrook is a unicorn- specifically Eastern Unicorn. However in Season 7, she is an earth pony instead. Now, the easiest and most obvious explanation is that they had a throwback and didn’t double check for continuity errors. But I have an in-universe theory for why this mistake happened. Meadowbrook, in addition to being shown as an earth pony in Season 7, is also seen as one of the Pillars of Equestria. Another Pillar is Mistmane. Mistmane is a unicorn. The setting of Mistmane’s story is one that strongly resembles what has come to be known as the Eastern part of the world. Furthermore, Twilight admitted that she had not studied Eastern unicorns as much as much as she should
